Midlife does not have to be a Crisis.
It should be a Celebration.
First look back, then look forward,
and
Go For It!!

Midlife is a word we often hear and almost all people will immediately associate it with the word crisis, this is how we in the Western World have been programmed. Our upbringing lifestyle and social environment have created a fear factor associated with the term.

How many times have you heard someone say he/she must be going through a midlife crisis.

But do they really understand what they have said! This alone covers very important issues in midlife that need to be understood and we will be dealing with these topics in more depth later.

It is said that a midlife crisis generally occurs between the ages of 40 and 60 with the average age being around 46. The reasons it is triggered are as many and varied as there are words in a dictionary and they will vary depending on each individual.

For men the condition can last from 3 to 10 years and for women anything from 2 to 5 years. This can be a frightening thought, but it doesn’t have to be.

We like to use the word midlife transition which sounds a lot less stressful and is common to all adults: Midlife Crisis Isn’t!

If knowlege is power take a look at some of the books we are recommending.

Have you heard this saying before ?  “growing old is a bitch”. We like to use the analogy: “I used to be a player, then I became a coach, and now I am a spectator! What has changed…?” We have got older. That’s life and we have to live with it, there is no alternative. So why not make the most of it? We only get one chance…..

Throughout this site we will be looking at many aspects of the midlife transition and offering some thoughts and suggestions that may help you to gain a clearer understanding of this phase of life’s journey.
